Posts: 252 | I am not a guide. I currently have caught (23) this year with (28) total in my boat. Hope to get (33) this year personally. We did hit my goal for the boat total. Just think, we still have at least (7) more weeks to fish in Wisconsin !! ![]() ![]()

Not a guide as you can tell from the numbers. 9 for me by august 15th (been a slightly dry run since then)with a pair of 49.5 inchers closing out the top spots. 42.75 inch average. All the fish caught on the same bait. (hows that for one dimensional)Not phenomenal numbers by any stretch but i can say its been quite a learning experience and probably the funnest season i have had.All told with all the money i spent on this sport over the winter i figure it was at least 200 bucks a fish and worth every penny!!Wifes uncle also got his first and only fish of the year in my boat at a fat 51-1/2 inches , and they've been getting smaller from there. I would trade the other 9 for that one in a heartbeat. Was a privledge just being the net guy on that one, and seeing the look on his face when she came up for the first time. (shes still swimming, he didnt even second guess releasing it) Was just looking for an improvement over last years numbers and size and have made that goal . Hopefully can close out the fall with a monster!! Fish on!! Dan

Posts: 2024 | After being in this game for some 5-6 years now, I've come to gauge my success not on the length of fish caught, or the numbers, but of how much fun I've had doing it. I've got my biggest (that was insanely FUN), I got my second biggest (also insanely FUN), my dad got a nice one (I'd rather net fish for him than the other way around), watching my buddy land his biggest just shy of 48 (memory never to forget), discovering new water (always fun), filming/documenting some outings and getting great footage (totally cool). As a student I get limited time to fish. If I wanted to simply catch fish, I'd be bass fishing. I have conceded the fact that I will not always get a fish, therefore my goal has been to simply HAVE FUN.

Location: Contrarian Island | ohhhh I still take pics and measure Dadson! (but i'm anal ;-)) even of the small ones! the way i look at even a 34 inch tiger is cool to look at and it has a 'story' behind it...i know exactly how many i have, and its a pretty good number for oct 5th with over a 40 inch avg...what i wish i kept track of was how many i've had in the boat! there have been many guys with me this year that have boated multiple ski's w/ me...I think Danny boy alone has something like 18 w/ me! It's just as fun (or almost!) puttin guys on fish ...esp. if it's their personal best...I'm havin a good year but you are a great example of how someones "numbers" might not reflect how good they are...you fish for mainly "one big fish" each time out on a very low density water...you are fine going out trolling a zillion hours if you get that one or 2 big berthas to bear hug...so your numbers are low but you and i both know why that is...you are not going for numbers... the number you have and size they are also has ALOT to do with what waters you fish .... I'm shootin for 75 over 30" by Dec 15th! ![]() I agree esox50...havin fun is what this is all about...musky fishin shouldn't be a p*ssing match to see who has more or bigger... it took me awhile (and some friends pointing out a few things to me!) to get there but once you do you can relax and just have fun fishin! Posts: 32902 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | HNR, Exactly! I used to know how many this year, but lost track. I am a guide, maybe 10 days a year at this point but that's going to change ALOT next year. I am also somewhat of a bufoon, some days..... ![]() Somewhere near 40, I think.
