The ice went out on Lake Harriet today. With rain and more warm weather coming it shouldn't be too much longer.

Just drove by Excelsior Bay and it's open and it appears that it's open all the way out to BI and beyond. There may be a few icebergs out there, but it's defiantly navigable.

Crystal Bay opened yesterday as did Wayzata. If they have not declared Ice out yet it shjould be today with the rain and wind we got last night...

Yep, looks open to me. Saw a boat in the middle of Gray's bay this morning and 2 rigs parked in the launch at Gray's.

I saw four boats out fishing in Wayzata Bay today. Can't wait for my turn!

I miss the old days when they used to let the bait shop put out a junker on wayzata bay and people would bet when it would fall through,,,think how much money we could raise for stocking

My Dad (now lives in Texas) lived out by Minnetonka in the early 70s. I asked him about this; he said it was a hoot. Lots of press in the papers about guessing the date down to the minute....Thanks for dragging up a memory for him and sharing some stories with me.
