| Was over to Ganderland today and saw Scotty Rod Holders there for $18. Just wondering if they are any good or what opinions anyone has on them. Read back through a few posts and I saw that Jason uses them.

| I use them too and I love them. I did not use the standard mount but opted for the flush mounts on top of the beam rail. They are great and I recommend them highly.[] |

| I like them, they adjust real quick and are built real good. They dont sqweek like other brands and are very simple to use.
I used them everywhere including Lake Michigan for Salmon. The big kings put them to the test and they are three times as strong as muskies.
I bought mine from Cabella's, they were $16 each there with a set of four. I had to pay a little extra for rail mounts also.
I had a problem with my rail moving, but it was not the holders fault, just my rail. But I fixed that problem. |

| Scotty makes different styles of rod holders. I prefer the Striker 240 - the one with twin stainless arms that come out the front with the rod cradle. This unit is superior to a Down Easter Salty in my opinion for two reasons - it adjusts to a myriad of positions in a fraction of the time it takes to adjust the Down Easter, and it cradles the fore end of the rod. This relieves a ton of pressure off of the reel seat area of the rod. I have been using them now for about 8 seasons. Never a problem in ANY weather.
