Is 15lbs enough? Can someone explain what these ratings mean? When setting the hooks on 20+ pound fish, wouldn't the drag slip even when locked down? Thanks for the help.

If you hang more than a 15lb weight straight down from your reel it will pull out the drag. When you set the hook a lot of that force gets distributed through your rod.

A Calcutta 400B is 17.5 so you are in the ball park with 15.
