Made four Pointers for the trip to Lake St Clair last weekend, caught many smallmouth bass on my homemade pointers. 3 boats six spoonpluggers in 3 days cauught 608 smallmouth bass including a 36 inch 41 inch and a 46 inch muskie that weighted 30 Lb.The two big muskie caught by my friend on a #8 shad rap

Smallmouth have an early season catch and release on the US side of LSC. Pretty sure that Muskie season is still closed until June 1st. Not saying you were targeting them, but just want to clarify for others that the season is closed. I know that there's guys jigging Walleyes in the Detroit River that they too get a few incidental Muskies from time to time.

There's no need to be weighting an out-of-season muskie. Un-hooking them in the water is practiced by most.
