Hey Everybody,

Saw a question about our website being down today on the Tackle & Equipment forum, and it's not a glitch. Badwater Baits has suspended its lineup...for now anyway. We are really disappointed to make the move, but didn't have a choice. Many of you know Mark Rottier, and some recent health issues are keeping him from building baits. We are exploring other options for the business, but he's just not capable of filling orders at this point in time.

We had a great couple of years for sales after launching our website and leaving the basement to go commercial. 2012 was fantastic for us, but Mark's health is the priority right now. He still plans on catching a new world record, so he has motivation for getting back to the stick.

Thanks a million to all of the great people on here who've supported us in one way or another from across the U.S. and Canada. It was a lot of fun to run the giveaways, hear stories about successful outings with our products, and chat with other fishermen at the shows and boat launches.

We are exploring options for selling/moving the lineup, but no decisions have been made yet---so feel free to contact us if you're interested

Anybody who has ever read anything I have written about tournaments knows that I fish them, most of all, in order to be with the other guys who do so. I have always said they are the finest bunch of guys you are likely to meet. Nobody lives up to that more than Mark Rottier. It's been my honor to fish several of them with Mark and he is a true inspiration. Like a lot of other lessons of life, you often learn a whole lot more about a person in how they overcome the pitfalls put before them. Mark was dealt a poor hand with respect to his illness, but you will never him talk like a guy who was anything but blessed. Last fall on the water, he told me, "I live a life that is 100% about musky fishing, I'm either doing it, thinking about it, making baits for it, or selling them at the tackle shop." It's my hope that Mark ends up with the next record (and he thinks he knows where she lives) becasue it truly couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Also, my collection of Bad Water baits just got a whole lot more valuable!
