I want to try sucker fishing around these parts, and no bait shop has any baits above 8 inches. Would I be wasting my time with bait this small, or would it be worth a try? Do I drift fish them or what? Thanks alot.

john,
yeah I know what ya mean. Some guy out middle island caught a 42 incher while catfishing, and knocked it in the head, tossed it in back of truck, got pictures with it, went to a bar, came out tipsy and went home...he woke up in the morning (A HOT JULY DAY) and it was rotten. so he tossed it in the woods. I was FURIOUS!!! I think more should be done in WV about CPR, and I'm looking into making papers or brochure type things to hand out at tackle shops. e-mail me and we'll go try and catch something.

only a section of middle island is catch and release. he caught this out of another part. There was nothing I could do, when I found out the fish was already tossed in the woods. later.
