For those of you that use big tubes for jigging the bottom in river systems, do you go with the current or against it for best results?

I drift with the current and keeping my bait vertical. Just like vertical jigging for walleye. Put the bow into the current or wind and keep your bait vertical. I'll also use a Bondy Bait in stronger current because of it's weight and works well. Make sure if your fishing current not flow then you have enough weight to help keep it vertical. I know the RO Guys will drift with current and cast up current allowing tubes to drag or slowly pop. They do very well with this technique. RO Tubes are by far my #1 bait for all applications!

Detroithardcore has good advice, I throw Red Octobers, no fish yet but not a ton of time either! I went to Mark's seminar at the Ohio show and what detroit said is right. They do fish the current and like to find large rocks or boulder areas to pop the tubes over, the muskies like to ambush. They will also hit some of the eddies with drop offs and work down the drop. You can get different weights and hook styles with their baits. I also like the the 10" tubes with 1/2 oz in white, for shallow water in the spring, they imitate dying/injured shad well, I'm going to throw them more this fall! Just an FYI but you can add or subtract weight from my 14" Tubby Tubes. Made a very cool harness inside of them.
