| The Hodag Challenge is set to begin with registration and Lake Reports tonight. The Hodag is hosted by the Musky Bar and Grill, the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce,and the Hodag Challenge Tournament Committee.
197 teams are registered to fish 5 lake groups as of this report. There may be a full field of 200 teams by the end of the evening. As soon as MuskieFIRST is supplied with the final field, The Mystery Man will fire up the Hodag Live Leaderboard!!
The Challenge is sponsored by Mercury Marine, Shoeders Marine, Skimmer Bucktails, Loveland Archery,Fanchers Kennels, Miller Brewing and Friends of the Field, Boercher's Ford, Fishing Hot Spots, Hodag Lanes, and several other fine local businesses.

He tells me since he started at the facility, he has been fishing exactly ZERO times. They tell me the Musky Bar and grill serves a heck of a fish fry, Wisconsin's traditional Friday Night Out meal. | 197 teams hit the water at 8 AM experiencing classic cold front conditions. By the end of tournament hours, 40 muskies had been registered, well within striking distance of an all time Hodag Challenge record.
The largest fish of the day was 44", with several from 40 to 43" reported.
"There were a number of fish caught throughout the day", said a Tournament Official during the final Saturday tally. " We are within range of an all time record for numbers caught!."
The anglers enjoyed snacks and drinks at the Musky Bar and Grill while waiting for the totals to be listed to the onsite leaderboard.
