Okay I admit the idea of a sketch pad for Muskie lures is prob silly but my wife who is a very good artist is wanting to get into painting. When I say she's "very good" she's as good as a novice person can be, if that makes sense. She stencils all sorts of things and has dozens and dozens of these sketch pads lying around. Does anyone know of any of these similar pads for lures? The idea is that she can sketch it then paint it.

She has not started painting yet but I plan on getting her as many supplies as I can for Christmas. This site has helped me so much in preparing her painting adventure so I figured I'd ask about the sketch pad.

not sure what you mean by sketch pad. but you could always scan the drawings and use the scans in photoshop to clean them up and get them die cut. not sure if that was the answer you were looking for, or you just wanted an actual sketch pad, if that were the case go to your local art store and get one. im an industrial design major and sketch lure ideas sometimes when im not to busy working on actual product drawings. get back to me as i really have no clue what your talking about and some clarification would help.

I agree with slickrick on the sketch pad question, no way to advise without some specific info. As far as your wife getting into painting, that in itself is another question. Like everything else it is not quite that simple. Questions like what style of painting would she like and then what technique fits her abilities. Maybe let her tune into some of the many art shows on TV and see if she likes any of them. Then it should take care of itself. One of my favorite and maybe the easiest to learn is a technique taught by Bob Ross. It is oil painting in its simplest form and very rewarding for the novice. Hope she learns to love the craft. Thanks guys. I was basically going to scan some images and create a book/binder for her.

I'm about the farthest thing from an artist or painter as you could get. I took a look at some of her art stuff and what I was trying to describe is called a "Stencil Portfolio". She has these portfolio's for things such as dresses, wedding themes, etc... I was hoping to find something on fishing lures. Yea, I know it was a long shot I guess. Hopefully within the next couple of months I'll post a couple lures of hers up here. She's really big on color blending and all this other stuff that is over my head. I hope things work out and she gets enjoyment out of the idea of painting. If not, there will be a bunch of stuff in the For Sale/Trade area!

Thanks everyone, enjoy the holidays!
