What do you guys use to keep your rods from beating up the finish on your boat while under power?

My boat has a rod rack down each side, typical of bay boats. I put a piece of rubber non-skid where the rod tips sit when the rods are in the rack. The tips float on the rubber instead of the glass. If that's not an option, maybe rod socks to help cut down on them scuffing or scratching the glass.
