Has anyone been on the Indian Lake Chain, northwest of Vermilion Bay, Ontario, this summer? Just curious as to how the muskies behaved this siummer.
Thanks. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | We were up there for the opener (3rd weekend of June) and fished for 2 days. We laned 7 and seen 25 others. Action has been pretty consistant for us up there. Size of fish vary with a big fish here and there but we had a 37" average. DBL cowgirls were our ticket. Suicks and glide bait have worked well in the past also for us. Good luck if you are heading up there. |

Location: MN | We were up first week of August, caught 14, saw dozens of others. Biggest caught 38, biggest seen maybe 45. Lots of mini fronts and lots of disinterested follows. |

Location: Springfield, IL and Vermilion Bay, ON | Actually, I go quite often...have had a cabin on the chain for over 50 years now. Great place to go. It is mostly a numbers place, but 50's have been caught...and released. My best has been a 48. I agree about big bucktails and CG's. I have caught several trolling deeper water in the past several years. The mid lake reefs and humps are great. But still, nothing beats throwing bucktails and surface baits at the shoreline and deep rocks and weeds. Headed there in two weeks. Hope the catching continues. Tight Lines All. |
