| Hey guys I need some help as I have only caught one musky from the bank only been fishing for about a month ttryin to get me boat on the water and am gonna be hitting kanawha river here soon but am lost the one I caught was caught of a log jam in a small river what I'm lookin for is good baits to use type of structure to look for and any other tips y'all got for me on bigger rivers as this river has three locks an dams and has barge traffic so as you can tell it's a big river with alotta strait banks

Location: Stevens Point, WI | If you have a lot of structure such as wood and rocks and you are worried about getting snagged from shore I would suggest using spinner baits a lot. You can bump timber and rocks and trigger some awesome strikes with out having to worry as much as you would with inline spinners and crankbaits. Topwater prop baits are my go to baits on the river here. You can cover a lot of water and reduce snags and hang ups. |

| Hey thanks for the info that's the way I fish in the smalle rivers as I fish from the bank but I have my boat running now so was going to fish the big river from the boat and was wondering what kind of structures to fish when none visible on top

| fishing the Mississippi alot I ripped alot of bucktails and spinnerbaits. fish around islands and etties ans small bays around slow moving bends that hold snags and structure. |
