| You all know that certain tackle companies have offered their lures in a "Night Shiner" finish. This is generally light purple and black. I would like to know if there is such a fish as a Night Shiner. Being from the East, I have never heard of these fish; and certainly never seen a purple fish in the water. What is it? |

| Night Shiner is just a lure color. Back in the late 80's and early 90's when night fishing was starting to take off in Vilas and Oneida Co. this color pattern was used a LOT at night, thus the name Night Shiner.

| I think the Depth Raider was the first to use that name. Bucher found that it worked well at night. It is also a great color anytime on dark rootbeer colored lakes. It has always been good for me on Catfish and Cranberry on the ER chain (day or night). |
