Took the boat out tonight and had a dead cranking battery at the landing. So I switched out a trolling motor battery and while I was in a rush reversed the terminals or hooked it up backwards, turned the key blew a fuse realized the problem hooked it up properly, replaced the fuse, and turned the key and blew another fuse. What could be the problem and how much poorer am I about to get?

I am a retard!

I did that last year as well on my yamaha. All the fuses blew on the engine...had to replace them all... Once I did that, she came alive and was running well.

Very scary, though, to see all fuses blown like that....

worked on it for a little while today with my mechanic, it doesn't look good pretty sure I shorted out the board. Looks like it could get alittle pricey.

if it a merc your in trouble.. the brain is fried.. it says that in the manuel not to do that.. i have always heard of this happening when just unplugging the battery and getting a spark on the post. if i rmemebr right you take off the positive post first and then the hegative. and do it the opposit way for puting the battery back on the motor...bill
