Is the 250 levelwind supposed to move when you cast? My Idx 400 and Calcutta 400 both go back and forth when casting. The 250 only does on the retreive.

I don't think so. My wife has the 250 and it does the same as you describe.

On most small reels of that size the level wind will not move on the cast. Need to get near the 4500 size before that happens from most reel companies. Not much need too make the level wind go back and forth on the cast on reels this small, just wears them out.

The IDX-250 does not have a traveling levelwind. The IDX-250"A" does have a traveling levelwind.
