I fished there 3 years in a row,2001-3,was just starting out trying to fish for muskie then, had no clue .The lake is great for northern and bass, lake trout in there also, but didn`t know how to fish for muskies then, threw alot of smaller buctails and the northern love them.I never threw top water there either, did have a muskie miss my bucktail at the boat the third year I was there on a figure 8.My cousin and I would like to go back just to see if we can`t getem now that we have some knowledge of how to fish for them, the bad thing I don`t like is that the boats don`t have trolling motors on them.If you get a guide(which I would first time there)they will leave the motor running or move with the oar.I did manage one small muskie though, and some follows, great lake to take the family and catch a ton of bass and northern.A #3-4 bucktail will get you bass and northern, and the fish taste GREAT out of this lake, shore lunches were awsome.I will say this about green island, they treat you good, food was good, and being out on the water and not seeing other boats at all, maybe a few others.I would highly reccommend this place, you can always break away and catch something else if the muskie fishing is slow, and it`s just so peaceful.
