Location: On the Niagara River in Buffalo, NY | I use a Bump Board that is made of Cyprus wood,it was made by a local wood shop in Jamestown,NY. It doesn't fold,it is 60" Long and measurements start at 30 inches from the middle out to 60" on either side. Just Bump the fishes nose up to one end of the board and measure where the tail points land on the board. All 1" and 1/2" incraments or precission etched into the wood,Inch marks are red and 1/2" marks are green, big numbers on the back wall show the inches from 30" TO 60". either you wet the board first before placing the fish on for a measurement or you use the Bump Board in the water and float the musky on its side into position for the measurement. The board is coated with evirotec to protect the board from getting wet and slime wear. I can find out if they still have any Bump Boards still available. |

Location: Bloomer, Wi | when I build mine it was outta pine really nothing special, just a nice clear board , no knots. Then put 2 hinges on it at 30 inchs where the 2 sections meet. Then put the the tape measure on when it was fully extended. then cut the tape in half, so that way the measurement was true. Then just poly over that. And your done. I took it a step father and squared the lines across the 1x6 so that it is easier to read the measure.
