Lookin for some good feedback from some motorheads and those that just like talkin tech.

Am thinking about a used boat that has a Mercury Verado 250. Individual is stating that motor has 400 hours on it as a 2005 model. Believe he is on pro tour.

My question is......is this too many hours on this motor that i should run the other way or is that not a big deal nowadays???

Also, he has 2 years left on warranty with option for extended 2 years. How much would the 2 year extension cost and what would it cover???

thnx for everyone's input ahead of time

on average, i would say 100hrs/year would be about right for the weekend angler, so 400hr/3 years for a tourney guy seems logical. as for longevity of the motor i don't know and will let someone else chime in.

Just my 2 cents .....if properly maintained and priced right, hours shouldnt matter. Just make sure you know what your getting with a motor that has higher hours...demand service records etc. If thats all good you could find some good deals.

I've asked this question before out here. Do a search and you will find some good info.
