| Fellas, I'm rigging my new boat and I want to get it perfect. Should I go with the daul 200kHz/50kHz 12deg/35deg or the single 20deg. I mostly fish shallow water under 20'. So the 35 deg should help me cover and see more of the bottom in shallower water, right? Is there a downside to the dual transducer? I can't get straight answers from the Lowrance website. I'm looking forward to your thoughts. |

| I bought a X126 with the dual frequency 12 deg transducer about 5 years ago. I fish the same kind of water that you do. The resolutoin on the 50 khz is much less than the 200 khz so I rarely used it. This year I had a problem with the tranducer cable and decided to replace with a single frequency 20 deg transducer and like it quite a bit better. You get a lot wider field of view with the 20 deg and it seems it does a better job of distinguishing features.
My $0.02

| The 50 KHz is for deep water, like trolling Salmon on the great lakes. If you stay on shallow water, the 200KHz is your best bet. |

Location: Sudbury Ontario Northern Ontario | Im in the process of buy a lcx 27c and for fishing in shallow water, lets say to 50' a 200KHZ ducer is recommended. I have been looking for a while now and i have asked tonne of questions and that the replie i got, direct from Lowrance Tec's.
Shep is write a 50 is for deep water you get less quality.
Hope this helps
