overfilled my batteries slightly the other day and thought I had all the excess cleaned up.

some white acid crust has formed on some of the aluminum inside the battery well and wanted to know the best method to clean this up and if it will corrode the aluminum or not. i assume this is due to the spillage but not certian - the carpet the batteries rest on was not damaged, just the aluminum wall.

The carpet and the surrounding area may/will eventually over time be damaged by the acid- you should also neutralize any remaining acid in these area's with a baking soda/water solution.

Have fun!
