Location: Eden Prairie & Pine Island | Anyone ever try that red rope lighting in your boat for night fishing? Thinking about something new that won't wreck my night vision. I believe you can buy it by the foot, mount it under the gunnels or in the compartment lids? |

| You can get it thru www.sailorsams.com I bought a rope lighting from Cabelas but I may return it. My stern light is plenty bright for the boat i have, and even at anchor or drifting, legally you must have the lights on. There are only a few shadows in the boat, mainly caused by me at the tiller. Too quick of a decision to buy on my part. The rope by the foot seeems to need accessories, also available at the site. I asked about this a few weeks ago, a few responded. I wondered if the bulbs were red or the vinyl 'hose' was red, or it i could color what i have, but no one responded. Good luck. |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Cady had some in his old boat and it was sweet when you're looking for things or tying a line. They were no good when you want to unhook a fish. The biggest drawback is that they seemed to suck down a lot of power. If they made an LED version that would probably be the best option if available. |
