Leaders? When do you use a seven strand versus a single strand?

The end of last year was my first foray into seven strand. I have used home made single strands for years with no problems. I got a couple seven strands from Rollie and Helens to give a try and actually liked them for the smaller bucktails, cranks and twitch baits. I still like my singles for the bigger cranks and jerks.

The seven strands do seem to bend up and kink a lot easier than the single strands though. You can always take a slight bend out of the single strands too with a little finesse work.

My friends call me looney, but I use MONO for everything but jerkbaits and Jakes, in which case I use titanium " " leaders from Terminator. I know many horror stories have come from MONO, but I also know of a number of Canadian guides who swear by them.

I like the single strand leaders most of the time with the exception of crankbaits.
