Posts: 7115 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Classic post-front conditions of cold temps and blue bird skies greeted todays PMTT anglers as they started Day Two. Sharply contrasting the first day's wind and rain, these conditions could make it tough to either change the leaderboard positions from yesterday, or to maintain the early positions established in Day One. With only 13 fish registered by 12 teams, a single cast could be the difference between first place, or no place. At the 7AM start time, air temperatures were a frigid 33 degrees, with frost covering contestents' boats and gear. Though the cloudless skies made for a beautiful sunrise, these combined with the cold temps could make this a long hard day for many. The 2006 PMTT Top Gun Champions of Brad Swenson and Kirk Allen hold the lead currently with 77 points coming from a 43.5", with only 10 points seperating them from the second place team of Tom Olson and Seamus Hanley who doubled with a 33" and a 31.5". But local boys Jason Jackson and Roger Bullard sit only 25 points off the pace and the father and son team of Jim Carlson Sr. and Jr. (who boated five in day one, with only one legal fish) only a few behind that, this is still anybody's tournament. A 44" fish will vault a team into the lead, and a 34" for anyone could put them into the top ten, so stay tuned for more coverage from the PMTT Cave Run Qualifier.
