| For those of us looking to explore different areas rich in musky angling history and lore, what are the best places to visit to see the mounts,(replicas) and hear the stories that really give you that Northwoods feeling? I guess my suggestion is the obvious one. Fresh Water Hall of Fame, and Moccasin Bar in Hayward WI |

| Not sure where to go looking, but I know things can pop up in strange places. Last fall I stopped in a little cafe in the UP's Keewenaw Pininsula - it had lots of dusty beasty mounts and old framed hunting and fishing photos. One picture from the 20's or 30's showed two Yoopers with two absolutely giant northern pike. I mean monsters, gosh knows how big, maybe the bigger of the two fish went 5 feet and 80lbs. I've seen the In-Fisherman articles about giant pike, and these beasts, especially the one, would have fit right in. My waitress said most of the pictures and mounts came from the owner's family so I left a note asking the owner to call and tell me the story about the pike. Never got the call.
