got a chance to go up for a week in late july to my buddy's cabin on plum lake. in reading past reports and talking to some people, i understand that this lake's weeds were/are decimated by rusty crayfish infestation. is it still worth the while? I hear good things about the lake - for other species - but i'm after the 'ski's!

any insight would be appreciated!

The lake is tough but some nice fish.

Many other good lakes close by too.

Fished it for a long weekend the last 2 Septembers and its pretty tough. No fish in the boat but saw some nice fish. Weeds were pretty sparce, but some of the deep breaks with downed trees were holding the majority of what we saw. Good luck if ya head up there.

There's still weeds, just a lot less than a few years ago. Weeds may be gone but the fish are still there. It's really gone to an evening or stormy weather structure bite. Same with Big Muskellunge.
