I was wondering who has tried this lure and how do you fish them? What were your results? I'm sure any sizeable pike or musky will just gobble it down. Their mouths are large enough for that if you see what some of the smaller pike do to the magnum bulldawg ...

What tackle do you use?

Also, I noticed in one of the older posts that the rear treble hook doesn't extend all the way to the base of the tail so I'm thinking about adding a third treble using single strand stainless steel wire or to use a dead bait rig on the entire bulldawg and to remove the two belly trebles.

I picked up a few at last years shows and started throwing them this Fall.Considerably bigger than a Mag Dawg.I fished them the same as a Mag.Typically slow and low in the colder water.I threw them on Thornes Customs, which were built on the 8' St.Croix Avid blank. One rod is 8'4" and the other is 8'9".These baits will break lesser rods, even on a lob cast.I don't recommend throwing them with high modulus blanks or those with a hvy. bucktail action.Too soft and not enough beef to get a good hookset.I replaced the hooks on those I bought with 8/0 Mustad 3551's.The Pounders out now have a bigger round bend which looks pretty good.My best on the pounder this season was a 48X24 in November.Hope this helps. Thanks Steve. I have a 7'5" 1-5oz very stiff worrall rod that I'm sure can cast it. I cast the magnum dawgs with it and it hardly even bends when I cast those. I also have an abu with 80lbs power pro but I think I'll get 100lbs for it and an abu 6501 reel.

Ive had two,,,and got to use maybe 3 of my friends,,,some of them have to be reeled very slow or they tend to roll to one side even if you try to tune them I have one like this but corrected it by adding a bell sinker yo the front hook making it even "more' heavier
