Location: Des Moines IA | I have C clamp down easters on my boat and use them every weekend. Get snagged in deep timber alot. Never, have I seen a double C clamp slip. You have to tighten them every time out though. I believe trailering loosens them. Rated to 100lb line, 85 lb fish. Shouldn't have any problems.

| Agreed. When I had my smaller boat...I used four of those Downeast double C-Clamp style rod holders. I'd crank them down tight using a set of pliers to really torque the small wingnut-style screws. They wouldn't budge. They're worth their weight in gold...worth every penny. You'll be pleased with them. |

| I've used the down east double clamps for at least 4 years--no problems at all, but they do loosen when you trailer them so just check the clap every once in a while and you are good, as the others have said. I busted plenty of rod holders before I got into the down east and haven't had a problem since. |
