Fished yesterday off of the pier in front of the porter boathouse. Didn't catch or see any fish. Stared off working my bulldawg, then switched to a grub/blade bait, then i ended with a topraider. Anybody else fishing mendota? or the rest of the chain??

Mendota? Good for Pike, but I don't think there's too many muskies in there. I'm sure there are SOME, but not like Waubesa, Wingra, and Monona.

I'd bet Wingra is gonna be hot in a week or so. Lots of skinny little fish to be had over there.

Location: The Yahara Chain
Mendota is not stocked with Muskies. A few could possible get in from Monona, they would have to make it through the locks.
It would be a waste of time to fish for musky in Mendota. Great lake for smallies and Pike.

Monona and Waubesa both have healthy populations with a legimate shot at 30+lb. fish. Wingra is overpopulated and has many small fish.

Mendota does have a few muskies in it but trying to target them is probably not worth. The population is so small you'd be wasting your time. The only skies I have heard caught out there are by accident by fisherman targeting other species. I have heard of a few pigs seen out there though. Understandibly, large deep body of water, almost no pressure on them. There could be some giants lurking.
