I just saw on another post that someone said you've got to be careful where you place your rails because the cover may not fit. I've got a Crestliner 1850. Should I put them as far back as possible? There are cleats on each side of the boat in the back so I was going to put the rails slightly ahead of them. I have to do this today though as we leave for Green River tomorrow. Can anyone lend any advice? Thanks much!

I would put them as far back as possible-I have adjustable poles under my cover. You can make them smaller to compensate for the rails. This will allow you some slack with your cover . Also, If you're using the rails to mount rod holders, I suggest using spacers and putting a metal plate underneath for more strength. I heard glide baits are the key --Good luck-- 630-244-0358

Todd,

Thanks for the advice. From your post it sounds like you have the snap on cover (correct?). Also, care to share more about the happenings down at Green River? Email me at [email protected]. I'd greatly appreciate it!

By the way, if you're out Tuesday or Wednesday we're the two bozos in the black Crestliner 135 Merc and 9.9 kicker. Stop by and say hi!

Hey Esox50,
How did it work out? Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. I was off of the computer for a week or so. The only thing that I heard about cave is that glide baits were working in shallow bays and creek mouths. The water temps are warming up and the rattle bite should be turning on if you're planning to head down south again---
Hope you did well,
Todd
