I have in-laws who live on the Wolf south of Shiocton. Their house is an island but still dry other than the crawl space where two pumps running night and day. Record level in New London with rain predicted for later. Yesterday, for a time, both bridges across the Wolf in New London were closed, and Hwy 45 around New London was already closed for construction. Virtually no way to get from one side of town to the other.
Shiocton evacuated the village. Hwy 54 and Hwy 76 were both closed at Shiocton.

Just a thought: I know this is peak time for walleye fishing on the Wolf. But taking a fishing boat down a river that is up to people's doors is irresponsible. I have seen two ads from bait shop/landings on the Wolf telling people they are open and they can still put their boats in at their landing. Really? The wakes off the boat just makes things worse. Give it a few days and the river will drop. What would you do if it was your home at risk? Golden rule folks.
