I moved out to Plymouth last year so I spent a decent amount of time fishing on eagle lake since it’s close by. I have done amazingly badly out there. For the previous 3 years I would fish lake Harriet for quick weeknight trips and was able to consistently be on fish. Eagle lake gets stocked with 2-3x as many fish as Harriet, so I always expected to be able to find fish easily, but that has not been the case. I heard that around 10 years ago it had a tournament win and got pounded for a few years after that, but so does every other metro lake. Does anyone here have experience on eagle in recent years. Is there a way lower population than the stocking would make for you expect? Or high mortality, fish swimming down the creek, or some other reason for a bad population? Or am I just horrible at fishing that lake?

Sorry I can't be much help with more recent info. Last time I fished it was about 15 years ago. At that time, it was a sneaky good walleye lake, with nice 20 to 23 inch fish. All the fish I caught, both walleye and muskie, were in crazy shallow water, in and near weeds and reeds. Most people I saw fishing, were out deeper, and griped about the poor fishing. I would just nod and say "what are you gonna do?"

With the poor landing and parking, I have tried to stay off the lake. Only musky I have seen on the lake was an accidental catch pre-season by a boat near by. I don't think the lake is what it used to be.
