Alright.. new fishing boat. 2012 Tuffy X-170T to be exact. Looking to add tracks to attach my livescope shuttle and livescope pole. I have Cisco track, 36” (shown in green) and two 6” sections (shown in blue). I plan to mount the shuttle on the green section, and the pole on the blue. My issues is I don’t know if I can get into the compartments circled in purple. They unscrew, but there’s a white plastic insert that doesn’t appear removable.. would I be safe mounting the track with screws and 5200? Or what would be my best course of action?

I was the Tuffy rep for 40 years and talked them into making that boat. The original was a Patriot.

Looks like 2 tubes in the face of the deck cap. Those are just screwed in and the white tube should come out. It might be silicone-sealed in a bit.

I'd bolt if possible, but if not make sure to carefully pre-drill through the gel using a new drill bit before running screws into the cap. I don't think screws will fail, that cap is pretty thick. Someone got in there as the trolling motor got mounted.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the boat, should be quite the set up once I bolt the tracks on. Hate to cover that front platform with tracks, but it's a useless space otherwise. I guess I'll see if I can't break those tubes loose and remove them. I've read now 5200 might be overkill and it's suggested to use 4200 in case I'd ever need to remove the tracks. It's my first decent boat so I'll be sure to countersink the holes and do everything correctly.

I sure liked mine. Only reason I sold it was Tuffy sold and the new owner told me to pound sand. I heard it went out of business again a few weeks ago.
