Nearly a year since I last built lures but I'm finally back at it. First lure is a 7" Mike Richardson blank I got years ago when I first started painting, through wired resin body. Second lure is a 12" wood lure with internal rattle chamber and plastic lip.

Really nice, as always. How did your Alaska fishing trip go? You had posted you were hoping to use some of your lures on that trip.

Alaska was a bit of a disappointment. We were hoping to "fish deep" out in 1200-1500 feet of water but that spot is 16 miles offshore and requires calm winds in order to achieve boat control. Unfortunately we had strong winds all 5 days we fished and never got to go out deep. Tried the lures in shallower water and caught a couple of small lingcod but nothing big enough to take a picture of. I also decided after 27 straight years of fishing in Alaska that I was going to call it quits and just fish locally for walleye. Gave the 6 lures I shipped to several boat captains with hopes that they would give them a shot under better conditions.
