Location: Central Pennsylvania | Currently I have a Tranx 300 HG on a surgical strike (MH) chaos tackle assault stick, as well as a Calcutta 400b on a musky innovations bulldawg predator (H). I was considering an XH telescopic in the 9 foot range, I'm between an Chaos Tackle original with the revolution reel seats or a TI Pro? I want versatility, and also have no clue what to get in terms of reels. I don't throw dbl 10s, or pounders, so I don't see much sense for a 500 tranx.
Edit: might also be open to just an extra heavy, even though the bulldawg predator is rated for 3-10 oz, though it seems to be not so good over 8. |

Location: oswego, il | If your not throwing big rubber or double tens why did you need an XH rod? Pounders would require an XXH or an XXXH. Knowing what you need it for would help. Both rods would be great and and so would a a 400 sized reel. Really depends on why you need it. |

Location: Central Pennsylvania | I should've said that I don't currently throw pounders because I don't have a rod big enough. Nor do I have a reel that I think is up to the task of dbl 10s. I more or less just want something that can do everything large sized somewhat well. I would like to begin throwing a more versatile range of stuff, I don't often throw rubber. However, I'd like to be able to.
Plus: I don't have any lakes with musky in my super close vicinity, so I can't chase real musky very often. My local lake just started stocking pures in 2019, but for now I'll enjoy chasing tigers and maybr someday I'll catch a pure. |
