Does anyone have any info about this lake in central Illinois? Would it be worth a drive for the day or would you recommend another Illinois or Indiana lake even for someone in the south suburbs of Chicago?
Thanks!

Very tough lake to lake to figure out. But huge fish. If your goal is moving some fish and catching a couple in a day, there are better options in Central Illinois. But if you aren't scared off from the real possibility of not seeing a fish all day, evergreen has some huge fish.

Thanks for the insight! Eagle is really the only lake that I have fished consistently over the years, so I’m no stranger to a tough bite. It would be nice to encounter some fish without traveling 14 hours!

Evergreen is a good lake but as mentioned tough. I would go to Webster in Indiana if I lived in the South Suburbs. Evergreen has a daily fee and Webster might even be a bit closer, plus lots more fish.
