Location: Oconto Falls, WI | How effective is it? Are there many people out there that spend time casting into the darkness this time of year on lakes that have ciscos staging to spawn? I intend to give it a try this weekend if my bloddy fingers don't freeze before then. |

Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Last week I was up north thawing out in a local establishment. The bar tender who is also a muskie guide, gets a phone call. It’s from an acquaintance of his who is out casting at 7 PM. The air temp is in the mid teens and rather nippy. He comes over and said that they just boated a 49 and 42 and lost another fish. The boat next to them boated a 48 and at least one more fish. They were casting Jakes in the shallows on a Cisco spawning shoreline. I would think that answers your question. I am not at liberty to say just where I was or what lake, sorry! Ed |

Location: Racine, Wi | Travis, I have nothing going on this Sat, and the woman is working at night. I will give it a shot down here on Okauchee, and let you know how it goes. Hopefully there is a piggy or 2 swimming around.
Good Lungen,

Location: Alexandria, MN | Like 'MuskyTime' said -- casting crankbaits and spinnerbaits on spawning areas has produced HUGE for me in the past.
I would say give it a try, but make sure you are setup for it. Night fishing is a beast of it's own, and then doing it with cold water adds some extra issues.
Just one hint -- Keep your retrieves steady and on the slow side. Jerks and Gliders should be left in the box.
Good Luck!
