Does any body know if St Croix, changed the blank on the new sling blade with the 8 oz max rating, vs the older 6 oz models? or is it just the rating.

Cheers.

Yes, it does, i was just thinking if they actually changed something in the blank, or if it was just the rating, due to them feeling it was underrated to begin with.

As Far as I know they didn't change the Blanks. Just upped the rating to 8oz. I own the new one along with a couple big nastys and a big dawg. the big Nasty is a good bit stiffer than the sling blade. I use top and tail for top water and use sling blade for smaller baits like shadzilla jrs perfect rod for that and small blades...Really a great all purpose rod imo
