Location: New Jersey | Question for you great painters. Why is my paint sometimes crinkling and other times drip and smudge?
I use eastern red cedar for my jerks. I use 2 coats of sanding sealer, followed by 2 coats of BIN 123 primer, I paint with testors enamel paint and finish with a few coats of aerosol envirotex lite. The aerosol etex lite is when I start to see paint start to crinkle or start to drip and smudge.
If I use the 2 part epoxy etex lite I have no problems but I don't want that thick of a coat. I want to use the aerosol etex but I don't understand why sometimes it's fine and other times I have drips and crinks.
Thx

Location: Moses Lake, WA | Check the spray can for the type of agents contained in the spray. For example Rustolem crystal clear enamel spray contains toluene, acetone, and xylene, all agents that can dissolve enamel paints. I don't know what aerosol etex lite has but it's likely that it contains agents that are incompatible with your paint. |

Location: midwest | I would guess the acetone in the spray can "etex" which is really an acrylic spray is causing the issue. Be aware that the acrylic topcoat will react with plastisol baits as well. |

| I had that problem when using createx paint when I would put to heavy of a coat of clear on. Tried a lighter coat and it fixed my problem |
