Location: Central Wisconsin | I have a lakewood medium that I don't use as much due to the fear of my rubbers melting. I am going on a trip soon and wonder if you have had this experience with lakewoods, how long did it take for the rubber to become affected? Is there a way to tell if it's a newer model that this problem is fixed? |

Location: Otsego, MN | I believe you can tell if the Lakewood is the newer style by the color of the plastic internals. If its the old black you may run into an issue but the newer ones I have/had were white and I haven't had an issue at all in the last couple years now. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I have a Lakewood with white inserts and never had a problem.
My Dad has a Lakewood with black inserts and has not had a problem either. His has not been out in the sun as many days as mine, but has held baits for a few years now with no melting problems. I've heard of some having problems but haven't seen it myself.
That probably doesn't clear much up for you! |
