| I've replaced some tips on walleye rods by heating them up with a lighter and pulling them off. I tried this on my musky rod and couldn't get it off. Is it probably epoxied on and not going to come off? |

| I fixed my MI rod. I had to shave off the outer epoxy with a razor then just heated the tip like any other rod. Put the replacement on with a shaving of the glue that comes with the tip top and used 5 min epoxy to reapply the stuff I shaved off. Has been good ever since. |

Location: Detroit River | Be careful when applying heat, too much & you can ruin the tip of the rod blank. I learned that the hard way. ) |
