Green.

Oh you mean lures. I'm a pretty big fan of natural colors and black. Probably walleye, Shad, or black. After season though I'm thinking my new favorite color might be skull pattern.lol

The new white / black dot with holoform scales is awesome!

I second your comment. I caught my first 50+ fish on that pattern. It rocks!!!

Depends on the water clarity. If the lake is clear, I'll try to match the main forage... if stained I'll use a bright color like firetiger

Wow cool thread!!! So many different opinions. As a lure maker I love these threads. Things like this get the old creative thoughts whirling around in my noggin.

Some of my thoughts on colors. I have found over the years (since 1996) that colors like body styles and size all seem to change as you move around the Muskies range. For instance on Lake Webster In Indiana my favorite color is Gray/silver Shad or any off white silver with varying tints towards blue, yellow, purple etc but gray being the main color. Why? Gizzard Shad. Here in Michigan my favorites tend to be which color is my favorite on the lake I am on. I own one Black lure a crane 205. I have a bunch of black and gold bucktails and I catch fish on them most anywhere but with cranks it seems to be localized more. I have one lake where chartruse green frog just tears it up. I cant catch a fish anywhere else on that color. My all time best producer has been a dull tan and brown perch barred bait I call tan perch. In clear waters on sunny days it out produces anything else I have ever thrown. That same lure is worthless in stained water. I have like 20 favorite lure colors, most have been mentioned here. Here are my top 10 producers

#1 Tan Perch over 200 fish
#2 Copper and brown Carp 117 fish
#3 Green frog 91 fish
#4 Black Bucktails 71 fish
#5 Old Loke BLue frog 63 fish
#6 Olive Frog 62 fish
#7 White Belly perch 58 fish
#8 Black and gold sucker 43 fish
#9 Gizzard Shad 31 fish
#10 various fire tigers or fire perch 31 fish

What is really amazing is how different lakes have certain patterns that work year after year. Since I started in 1996 I still have not found any one color that can say is my favorite go to color that will work on any lake. If I could only have three colors they would be Tan and Brown, Chartruse and Black spots, and Gizzard Shad. Kingfisher
