| I'm in too, four times. First one was fishing from shore and slipped and fell and drove the hook into the bend towards the bone on the left middle finger.
Second one was simular, third one was at the shop when taking a lure ( sample ) off my hanging rack. And last one was was ripped clean through the finger by a pike ( the scumbag didn't even say sorry) and took four stitches.
NOW, bowhunting, trees stands, and super sharp broadheads have seen more action and stitches ( blood included ) than the hooks. I think I actually like the hospital staff or something. [] |

| No hospitals, yet! But had to remove hooks 3 times so far out of my hands. Took one partner to the hospital this summer, he didn't want me to do the deed, so he paid $200 for the e.r. trip. |

| Last summer while releasing a fish, I was bending over the side of the boat and got 5 hooks (I shouldn't have T'd the hooks) in my belly from 2 Suicks and a Reef Hawg. That morning I had just installed a new lure rack above the livewell and unfortunately found out it was in a bad place. Had to go to Park Falls Hospital.
The next day I went to the Vet when my Golden Retriever got his ear hooked on a lure from the same lure rack. I took the lure rack down.

| Not this year, but had a 2 lb largemouth catch me with a 4/0 worm hook last year in thumb, the bad part was, he was still hooked too. Amazing how strong they seem when every little twitch moves the hook that is in you too. Before that I put a snagging hook in the back of my head while snagging carp and buffalo. Hopefully no more![:(] |

| I had one trip to the ER several years ago when a small pike put two trebles from a #13 Rapala into my hand. My wife used the cutters to remove one, but the second was too buried to remove. St. Michaels in Point had to remove the second hook. Fortunately in my 20+ years of fishing muskies I've never had a musky treble put through my hand or finger....though I've come close.
While night fishing about 10 years ago, a close friend was hooked in the back of the head with a bucktail (by his brother). This initially knocked him out cold and he hit the floor of the boat hard. Howard Young in Woodruff got the honors of removing this lure. The hook barbs were bent from striking his skull (OUCH!).
My dad, who was an M.D. at Howard Young, saw many hook removal patients over the years. They once had a guy show up with a Rapala stuck in the back of his shoulder, with a 13" walleye attached to the lure. Figure that one out.
