Location: Lake Vermilion Tower, MN | Some of my favorites include Ducktail lures, Roz-tail he makes them all custom for you and M&G. I also have a lot of the older models from VooDoo tails and they all catch fish.

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Pearson Grinders #1 for the weed beds and built like tanks you can't go wrong, grim reapers, rad dogs, and marvs.
The cyco spin is a great spinner puts out great vibes but is hard to crank in with the wrong tackle and is a slow mover in general especially if you want to save your arms. A cowgirl pulls easier. Better bait at night or when water temps are low in spring and fall. They don't cast very well either compared to other spinners. The blade I think is heavier then the lead head which makes it tumble and foul. Designed to ride high in the water column.
When retrieving a grinder spinner thru weeds point the rod and reel at the bait for an incrediblly straight retrieve. Let the bait hit the cabbage and keep reelin you'll get hit hard for sure. These baits can be worked at the base of weeds if heavy oz. and you have enough patience reelin in the bait at a moderate to slow retrieve without setting the hook on a weed snag, keep the rod down, don't whip the rod to the side. you'll get fouled on the weed.

Location: north central wisconsin | My buddy Greg makes the GP Thumper spinnerbait, and we've done alot of the testing on rivers, though they've performed great on the lakes in MN, WI, and green Bay especially well. His lures can be custom orderred by size and color, and are very unique with the big rubber shad tail trailer. Definately big fish lures, and worthy of a look. Drop me an email or PM for more info. or pics. |
