I used a shimano Cardiff 400 for 10s it worked good for me.

Big blades are tough on reels. Lots of reels will pull them but how long they will last is another question you should consider. Typically a cheap reel will not last long. Happy shopping!

i have a 20 ... only 2 negatives ... 1. lever disengage, 2. engages in the first rotation ... takes about a half hour to get over them. they are great reels.

if you are a lefty, the believable word for the best speed double 10 reel is the Avet as stated above ... i don't believe they have a level wind but someone may be able to confirm.


I actually think number one is an advantage. You never have to worry about the power handle engaging the reel should you force it too hard on the cast. To solve the second problem I flip the lever, turn the handle until it stops, and then make my cast. this way when the bait hits the water the handle is ready to engage. After a while it becomes second nature and works just like any other reel.
