8' is my jerk bait rod. More work but keeps them pinned way better then the old 6.5 and 7'ers IMO.

I have multiple short trolling rods (under 5') used for running small lures in the shallows. Was out a couple of weeks ago and that's all we used, caught a dozen or so cats to 12lbs. and a few bass.
