Posts: 897 | Check out their website. I'll be up there all next week and will post something a couple days in. Sounds like the double 10 bite hasn't kicked in yet but they are catching some fish. Two weeks at AML! Nice! Can't imagine how sore I'd be from throwing Cowgirls for two weeks! -Chris

Posts: 897 | Whatever, dude. I'm a government employee, this is how we do things:) But yes, I am definitely mentally checked out already...not good when I have a mountain of work on my desk! Hooks are sharp, new line on freshly lubricated/fixed reels, and I'm going grocery shopping tonight. Canada here we come!

Posts: 59 | I was up there for opener and on Saturday night a guy got a 46" to hit a pike, then caught it, off the dock. Friday night I decided I would try a lure I made off the dock, and got my second follow of the night, then caught the 43" fish two casts later. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=43... herbie should have new stuff up soon, can't wait to see new pics. water levels were high some rocks that are usually above surface were under, not too bad though Edited by CM_IA 7/16/2008 11:07 PM

Posts: 336 Location: Wheeling, IL. | Jim Instead of Crown ask for Weisers deluxe at any of the Ontario Liquor stores. Smoother and cheaper. I know the 4 of us will drink a ton of it up there.

Posts: 734 Location: Watertown, MN | I am guessing pretty slow, lots of fronts moving through, just talked to group up and minaki, and they had a pretty rough week on the river, high water, big winds, and storm pushing through, hopefully some stable weather and heat to get them cranked up Troy

Posts: 1767 Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Some fish are being caught but definetely slower then last year at this time. Someome did nab a monster 54" today though. Just a warning for all you guys up last year, the Cowgirl/Spanky Bait is NOT on like last year, fish are moving and being caught on them but smaller bucktails are definetely much more ideal then last year. Bring some Shumway Flashers.... Edited by Musky Brian 7/24/2008 11:39 PM

Posts: 59 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | thats good news for us, I rather throw the small stuff anyways...we caught a bunch of fish last year up to 48 on the shumway flashers.....I dont really care what they want as long as we catch them..3 more days

Posts: 78 | Also lots of fish moving on the Jackpot. Black with orange belly. I just got back from there. First time I've been there. Saw some awsome fish but couldn't get them to eat. My son had one (upper 40's on but lost it at the boat) Lots of fronts going through. Guys who are regulars said it was slower than usual. Good luck hope you get a big one!

Posts: 408 Location: Omaha, Nebraska | I did't stay out of AML, but the fish are defiantly lackadaisical and the follows are deep and slow. Topwater and gliders seemed to be what moved them the best. Saw lots of BIG Fish but couldnt get them to eat. Only got a small 25"er on a small spinnerbait after it blew up on a super turrbo. The unstable weather and late sring is really hurting the fishing. Good luck to anyone who is heading up soon.

have u guys been trying different things? maybe the same summertime spots and summertime baits are not the ticket. i know guys that have gone up to eagle and have done very well while most everyone else said it was awful. lac sule was also on fire about a month ago while most people said it was slow. fish have to eat and can be caught even in cold water. you just need to know how to catch them. goodluck

Posts: 28 | Just got back from the from my trip to Evergreen Lodge on the east arm. Between my dad and I we came in contact with 10 fish but we don't fish strictly for muskie while we were up there. Of those fish i managed to bring a 49" into the boat on a baby depthraider fished over the weed tops, my dad lost one, and we had 40" that must have been blind in one eye because it missed our lures 4 separate times. Most of our follows came on suicks, depthraiders, or the bulldawg with blade baits seeing no action at all. I would suggest fishing a lot of different structure as we found fish in weeds, on the reefs, and by rock in bays. It seemed as though the cold weather and lots of rain has caused the fish to not set up in a pattern yet. One other thing I would try is a run and gun approach since most of the contact with fish was made within the first 5 minutes of approaching a spot with the majority on the first couple casts.
