Heading to Eagle lake Canada The 9th of August. the outlook is for cool weather mid 60's. how do most of you fish in these conditions. usually we are burning blades, and throwing top water. With the cooler weather will it be more of a crankbait, rubber bait bite? Just worried, bringing the unlaws with and want to make sure they have a good time. (Also want to keep the wife happy!);-)

This is exactly what I'd hope for. If the water temps stabilize in the 60's, the fish should be available on the early July pattern. Rarely does our water in Oneida stay in the 60's into August, and the muskies here are where I'd expect with water temps there, depending on each body of water.

Your week on Eagle is the same week I've been up for the last 7 years. Here's what's happened for us several different years:

When you get a few cool nights and cool days the fish seem to vanish off all the traditional rock structures you're usually fishing this time of year, back into the weedy areas from whence they came. A few warm nights and days, and they were all back on the bars/points/reefs. We even saw this happening during a single day - weedy areas were good in the morning, and by mid afternoon the fish were gone, back out on the deeper structure adjacent to the areas we were fishing in the morning. Find a good weedy bay with some nearby rock/reef/hump type of stuff just outside that bay. Seems like they move in and out and in and out with even a few degree difference in water temperature.
