Subject: Metro Muskie Tournament format - Team vs single event?

Any thoughts on how the metro tourney would be as a team format event. This tournament or any tournament for that matter is a usually a team event, but the netman or the other guy/girl in the boat never gets any credit here. It's usually the two anglers, good friends, up the night before, if not days, weeks ahead of the tourney pre-fishing, strategizing, formulating what they think is a master plan from analyzing maps, to weather, what lake to fish, water temp, hot color and lure selection, etc. that is half the fun, but your partner who doesn't catch a fish in this tourney is left out. Every other tournment format is basically a team event, why not this one? I believe you would still get as many entries.

One other thing that's comes to mind with non team type tournaments is cheating. I don't want to stir the pot, on "hearsay" or a he said she said type of argument. But I have heard of times in events like these where the first guy in the boat caught a legal tournament fish, he takes a picture of it, gets a witness etc. Then his partner catches a fish later in the day and hands the rod to thier partner who caught the first fish, so he can register double fish in the tourney and have a better chance at winning. Not saying this has happened, but again I have heard of people discussing this, in my mind because it is not a team event. A team event would eliminate the possibility of this. I would love to say we're all 100% honest and things like this would never happen, just a thought to make the tournament more credible and fun for the whole boat.

You can give lie detector tests, to the top finishers.
It is really easy to cheat in the metro tourney, guy catches a legal fish and is on the board his boat partner gets the next one, but passes it off to the guy who got the 1st. Now he has two fish and is almost guranteed a top finish. The metro tournament is a fundraiser basically and a good time. Your a pretty big looser if you need to cheat and ruin a good time for the 99.9% of honest anglers out there.

Pictures should also be required to have that days newspaper in the picture, just my two cents.
