I am trying to find the ground block to install power to stereo. I should be under the console...my understanding is to look for a circuit board that has all black wires connected to it.

Anyone have more exact description?

If someone can offer advice here, I would appreciate it.

Also, I purchased 33 feet of 18 gauge coated wire for the purpose of running power to the stereo--is that correct?

Thanks,

You better go a lot higher than 18 awg wire for power. 12 awg wire at a minimum if not 10 awg if it is 33' long. 18 awg is not sufficient.

I do a lot of car stereo installation and most manufacturers use 12 awg and the distance from the battery is about 10' of wire. You will do more harm than good by using wire that is does not have the capacity to deliver the required amperage at 12V. The wire size should always have double the capacity of the fuse in the stereo deck. This will prevent the wire from overheating and melting the insulation.

I work with licensed electricians every day as I work at a NEMA electric motor repair shop as a mechanical engineer. If you have any other questions about wiring, feel free to ask.

Thanks....did that.

Found a panel with all black wires connected...I ran the ground there and the stereo worked, so that must be the ground block.
